Numerous species have been pulled from the brink of extinction thanks to the hard work of conservationists like those working with Paso Pacifico.\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><br \/>\nToday, as we celebrate our successes, we must also take time to help the species whose futures are still uncertain.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Critically endangered hawksbill sea turtles and black-handed spider monkeys have slow maturation rates and low reproductive rates, which makes their vulnerability to poaching, habitat fragmentation and degradation especially dangerous.
